About

My technology experience dates back to Commodore 64’s and Apple IIGS’s.  When introduced to those devices in my younger years, I was hooked.  Since then, I’ve always had a love for all things technology.

As an educator, I found ways for technology to help streamline workflows and enhance lessons.  I have taught nearly every subject at the middle school level but my background is middle school science and technology.  From balancing equations to the genius hour to teaching JavaScript, technology has always been prevalent in my classroom.  After teaching for over 17 years, I have moved into a full time K-12 Instructional Technology Coach position and love assisting teachers in our district creatively integrate technology in their classrooms.

I’ve utilized Google since 2005 and have led trainings on nearly every application available through GSuite and have also led teachers through Google Certified Educator Training.  I co-created a new technology-infused gamified professional development system for my school district called #TRIADvances and co-created a gamified Google Certification game.  I enjoy teaching tech in and outside of my district and have had the opportunity to lead trainings at neighboring district’s institutes and staff development days, have presented at the IASB IASA IASBO Joint Conference in Chicago (2018), the Illinois Principal’s Association Conference (2018), the Directions Conference (2017, 2018), METC (2018, 2019, 2020), ICE (2018, 2019) and IDEAcon (2020).  I’ve streamlined workflows using Google for personal use, teacher/staff use, school district use, and church use.  If you are interested in having me lead a training, you can reach me at mike [at] edtechCREATIVE.com.
